Justin has been an EcoDistricts Accredited Professional (AP) since 2017 and currently serves as the Director of Community Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh in the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs. He is responsible for leading University efforts and interactions with key Oakland neighborhood constituencies, monitoring and addressing community concerns in neighborhoods adjacent to campus and strengthening communications vehicles for community-facing work.

Justin is a 2020 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Doctor of Education program in Higher Education Management, where his scholarly work focused on the professional competencies of higher education place-based community engagement professionals. Justin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Clarion University and a Master of Arts degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University.

As a passionate community engagement professional in the field, he is credentialed in Campus Compact’s Community Engagement Fundamentals as well as Community Partnerships. In his home space of Carnegie, PA, Justin serves as the Secretary for the Carnegie Community Development Corporation.
