ParkScore

The ParkScoreĀ® index, developed by the Trust for Public Land (TPL), is a comprehensive rating system that evaluates the park systems of the 100 most populous U.S. cities. It assigns points based on 14 measures across five categories: acreage, investment, amenities, access, and equity. The index aims to highlight disparities in park access and quality, providing valuable data to guide local park improvement efforts. By comparing cities, ParkScoreĀ® helps communities understand how well their parks serve residents and identifies areas needing improvement. The goal is to ensure that everyone has access to quality parks and green spaces, promoting public health, climate resilience, and strong, connected communities.
