Managing Principal Jim Weiner founded Collaborative Project Consulting as the natural progression of a 35-year career as a design architect and educator. He is a recognized thought leader in architecture and sustainable building in the U.S. and internationally. Green building policy has been shaped by his hands-on work with the U.S. Green Building Council, major utilities, universities and state/local governments. Jim is an educator and speaker for groups including the American Library Association, Community College Facilities Coalition, Pitzer College, UCLA, USC, UCSB, SCIARC, Cal Poly Pomona, Association of Energy Engineers, American Solar Energy Society, AIA, ASHRAE, Energy Resource Center, and the U.S. Green Building Council. His projects as a design architect have earned awards including AIA Chapter Design Excellence, Los Angeles City Beautification, and an AIA/COTE Top Ten. Jim's work with the USGBC has been significant over many years including selection for the Charter LEED Faculty, serving as Vice-Chair of the national USGBC Education Committee, and being Founding Co-Chair of the USGBC/LA.
Jim was elevated in the inaugural class of LEED Fellows in 2011.
