Scott Wolovich

Co-founder and Executive Director of New Sun Rising, a 501(c)(3) community economic development organization serving the Greater Pittsburgh region. Received a Masters in Physical Therapy from University of Pittsburgh and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ohio University. Experiences growing up in the woods, fields, and streams of Appalachia led to applying living system approaches to community development practices. Developed the Vibrant Communities Framework to guide local leaders in building their capacity to realize the future they envision. Partner of the Millvale Ecodistrict, and Triboro Ecodistrict including neighboring rivertown initiatives in the Etna Ecodistrict and Sharpsburg Ecodistrict, and the county-wide sustainable development initiatives at RiverWise.
