Adrie Fourie

A sustainability consultant with 19 years’ experience in development economics, urban management and sustainable design. Passionate about creating liveable and resilient cities through the application of environmentally sustainable design principles on a city, precinct and/or building scale the EcoDistricts protocol fits perfectly with the focus of her work.

Adrie has an undergraduate degree in Town & Regional Planning, a Master of Architecture with a focus on water conservation in the built environment and a Postgraduate Diploma in Green Cities for Eco-Efficiency from the International Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies at Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

She formed part of the South African team investigating the most appropriate way in which to adjust the Green Star Australia Communities tool for the local market, assisting with creating a Local Context Report for the Green Star South Africa Sustainable Precincts rating tool. She created the Green Star South Africa Public and Education Building Custom Healthcare tool and led the first South African project to use the tool in securing a 5 Star Green Star Design Certification.
