MapOnce a thriving community in the heart of America’s steel country, Millvale has felt the negative economic and environmental impacts left behind when industry left the region.
After being devastated by massive floods in 2004 and 2007, the community rallied together to transform itself using sustainability as the core value of economic redevelopment.
Adopting the EcoDistricts Planning Process in 2012, the community has been working to position itself for a 21st Century economy through programming in the areas of food, water, energy, air, mobility, and equity.
